This game features a 3D dungeon but players have a first person view. There are 4 characters to pick from and players use the point and click interface to defeat monsters. As the game goes on, the characters increase to 6 and this is done by resurrecting dead non player characters or finding NPCs located in the dungeons.
A team of adventures is hired by the lords of the city of Waterdeep to find out about an evil coming under the city. The adventures then go into the sewers but their path is blocked when the eponymous beholder Xanathar causes it to collapse. The team continue down the sewers through drows and dwarf clans and all the way to Xanathar’s lair where the final battle occurs.

Nintendo have posted the following on there website “whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet” which makes it clear that downloading ROMS is completely illegal. A lot of people say this is a grey area, Some say as long as you own AD&D Eye of the Beholder on the SNES you can download and play the ROM as a backup to the physical media, this is not true.
